Am I being punked this morning? Snow again outside! I need to go to the store and pick up a few things, but forget it now. Yeah, I know to some people it may look like a layer or you might not really see anything at all. Ha-ha, you might be the one getting punked then.
Once upon a time...no really maybe like two winters ago I woke up like my normal routine to go to work. I wasn't rushing because by now I had been getting up a little earlier to leave in enough time to just drive without rage and to also get an extra few minutes to myself before starting my job. Well this particular morning when I went to leave I noticed a tiny bit of snow had fallen the night before and all that had really remained was what was on the grass. No big deal right?
Enter the Car Ice Capades...I'm not kidding either! Maybe during my sleep that night the Car Capades came through and took applications and my Jeep thought it could be graceful and signed up...who knows. What I can tell you was I wasn't informed that the tryouts would be on this one very long stretch of backroad I took to work everyday. Oh my I thought I was in a really bad dream as a rounded that first corner and my car started just slip-sliding all over the road. It can't be true, we were headed for a very large oak tree in someones yard and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Just as we hit the curb (which was on the opposite side of the road, thankfully no cars were coming) and entered the yard the force in which I hit sent my Car Capading Jeep in a new direction...thank GOD! We smashed and took out their mailboxes and sent them flying to who knows where and back on the road I was unable to stop.
We had a few laughs at work about the whole thing (I still got there on time), as I told the ladies if they see a random mailbox in the parking lot I didn't know anything about it and don't look at me. We all laughed immediately as they knew what that meant.
No more Car Capades for me thank you!
***note...An apology note was left for the people whose mailbox was demolished with information on how to get in touch with me to replace it, they never did, they have a nice mailbox now and I'd like to make sure they keep it.
-Lmao , to funny..luckily noone gor hurt
ReplyDeleteSame thing happend to me last night except with the mailbox lol but there was one car around which was about 2ft
Away...
I hope you guys made it home safe. People take the smaller swnow falls for granted thinking they aren't that dangerous...they are very mistaken. I had an easier time driving in larger snowfalls then the dustings.
