Klepto Dog

I was just reminded of this funny story about my Mini Schnauzer named Frankie today, actually he reminded me. It happened awhile ago but I'll never forget it.
My son has always had a really bad habit of leaving everything out everywhere, it doesn't matter what it is. There have been times I've had to replace things because he'd end up losing them from leaving who knows where. Well....enter Frankie, given that he is a dog, I would assume if you toss something there is a good possibility that he might retrieve it. Frankie had never taken anything that wasn't his even if it was something my son had tossed down onto the floor. Well I guess that day finally came when the thrill of fetch just became to much for him and he just decided he didn't care whose belongs it was he was going to fetch and take it. We had no idea Frankie had taken any of my sons things at the time, actually he had gotten away with it all night. So the next morning when we were getting ready, thank goodness it was not a school day, my son realized he couldn't find his cell phone. Well color me surprised! He shouldn't be shocked, it wasn't like he took care of it or placed it in its proper place. So the search began...of course he has me looking too as if I misplaced it. We looked everywhere, under the furniture, under his bed, in the bathroom, in the couch, on the top of the couch, in the basket on the table, we even looked in my room, all this while Frankie sat in his crate watching us go back and forth almost as if he were laughing at us. Finally I had enough and it dawned on me, "hello, call his phone from my phone...duh!" so that's what I did.
OMG!! You will never guess where the ringing was coming from...YES! It was coming from Frankie's crate. Now as we turned to look at him he turned away as not to look at us, I couldn't help but to laugh, my son wasn't laughing, but I was after all it was his own fault. As I reached in to take it  away from him he gave me this look like it belonged to him now, so I couldn't resist but to say to him "what Frank, you needed to make a call or something?", now my son was laughing.
I will never forget this because every time Frankie comes slinking into my room I always look to see where my phone is and then again when he leaves I check again one more time.

SNOW way!!

Am I being punked this morning? Snow again outside! I need to go to the store and pick up a few things, but forget it now. Yeah, I know to some people it may look like a layer or you might not really see anything at all. Ha-ha, you might be the one getting punked then.
Once upon a time...no really maybe like two winters ago I woke up like my normal routine to go to work. I wasn't rushing because by now I had been getting up a little earlier to leave in enough time to just drive without rage and to also get an extra few minutes to myself before starting my job. Well this particular morning when I went to leave I noticed a tiny bit of snow had fallen the night before and all that had really remained was what was on the grass. No big deal right?
Enter the Car Ice Capades...I'm not kidding either! Maybe during my sleep that night the Car Capades came through and took applications and my Jeep thought it could be graceful and signed up...who knows. What I can tell you was I wasn't informed that the tryouts would be on this one very long stretch of backroad I took to work everyday. Oh my I thought I was in a really bad dream as a rounded that first corner and my car started just slip-sliding all over the road. It can't be true, we were headed for a very large oak tree in someones yard and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Just as we hit the curb (which was on the opposite side of the road, thankfully no cars were coming) and entered the yard the force in which I hit sent my Car Capading Jeep in a new direction...thank GOD! We smashed and took out their mailboxes and sent them flying to who knows where and back on the road I was unable to stop.
We had a few laughs at work about the whole thing (I still got there on time), as I told the ladies if they see a random mailbox in the parking lot I didn't know anything about it and don't look at me. We all laughed immediately as they knew what that meant.
No more Car Capades for me thank you!

***note...An apology note was left for the people whose mailbox was demolished with information on how to get in touch with me to replace it, they never did, they have a nice mailbox now and I'd like to make sure they keep it.

Addicted

Addicted, who me? I can't be, or can I...or maybe I just have an addictive personalitiy. Yeah, that has to be it.
I just played this game for the first time ever last night...Words With Friends, ever heard of it? Oh my...I'm hooked!
It was only within a few minutes of playing that I had already had 3 games going at once, and oh if they didn't move fast enough I added a new game. By time it was all said and done I was running 6 games! I REALLY liked this game and wanted to play. I then notice I player gave up quick, then 2 more sorta fizzled out so I was left playing back and forth between 3 games until 2 more just seemed to disappear too, I was then left with 1 lonely game. Happy to still be playing, this player stuck it out til the end and won...Congratulations to you! Really, what is a person to do with 2 R's, a Z and a Q? I feel as thou I did well my first time out and I promise I'll be back, and this time to WIN!!!

Dentures, want some?

What is up with today's youth? The lack of respect for adults is unreal. I can't believe my ears these days the way the teens (oh, and younger) talk, using foul language. It's not even just hiding it when their away from their parents ear-shot either. They're using it at their parents and not just here and there it's like it's part of their regular vocabulary. I'm not immune to this problem either, I also have a mouthy teen who for some reason thinks this is OK. I have no idea why because I have clearly taught him differently. I myself have no clue where the big turn around came from, maybe because I was apart of Generation X which really wasn't all that long ago, but I can't remember us being this disrespectful and nasty. I will have to say with honesty that I wasn't the best teen, I did push boundaries and do things I shouldn't have but a full lack of respect towards my parents or any other adult for that matter was pretty much unheard of. I would be willing to bet we would've been a generation of toothless teens if we had been this way because we knew our parents would have hauled off and socked us clean in the mouth, at least I knew mine would have. Starting to wonder if the world needs to get back to that, I guess if we did we would probably put most orthodontists out of business, but hey the denture makers today would be rolling in cash!
